At the presentation of the fashion collection “Tæwas,” clouds moved onto the stage (read: trampoline 😊), following the rhythm of a full day—through crisp morning fog, into midday clarity, onward to sunset red, and into the deepness of the night sky. The cycle of the day, reflected in silk, unfolded in the colors of clouds—so that almost every piece comes in different shades of the sky. In total, there are nearly 70 distinct silk creations.
Cloud hunting!
Tanel Veenre speaks about the birth of the “Tæwas” collection:“Last winter, there was always a camera ready on the table in my home studio. As soon as interesting clouds appeared outside the window, I would rush out to capture them. A beautiful coincidence—caught in the moment and never repeatable in time—found its way onto silk. In search of sunsets, I naturally also ended up in Haapsalu, my favorite small Estonian seaside town. And into every cloud print, I hid a small seahorse 😉”
Universal silk dress
For the first time, the collection includes dresses cut on the bias—simple, light, and beautifully draping against the body. The diagonal cut and adjustable shoulder straps make them suitable for a wide range of body types. They also work perfectly as a luxurious slip dress.
The pajama party continues!
In addition to the already familiar long pajamas, this time the selection also includes short ones—perfect companions for a hot garden party or simply for relaxing at a summer home 😊
Celestial blouses
The “Taewas” collection also includes two types of blouses, united by the luxurious drape of silk satin and a body-loving sense of ease and spaciousness. The selection features long puff-sleeve blouses as well as a kaftan-style throw-on blouse. Try them with your favourite trousers!
Nothing beats trousers!
Once you’ve tried wide-cut silk trousers, you’ll hardly want to go back to anything tight or restrictive against the body. The cleverness of the trousers by Tanel Veenre lies in the combination of a chic waistband and elastic construction—making them adaptable to different waistlines, while still giving the impression from the front that they were made to measure.
The expansiveness of silk
From the earlier favourites, long dresses and kaftans have now been adorned with clouds. Naturally, they are richly edged with cloud motifs. True to the “Taewas” collection, the palette is pastel and gentle. In addition, there are ball gowns made of feather-light silk chiffon—trembling like butterfly wings.
Jackets that love every body
These Japanese-inspired throw-ons make any look feel effortlessly bohemian and free. No restrictive office blazer that forces you to count bites—life should feel comfortable, and these jackets are a celebration of ease. The more structured silk dupion holds its shape gently, allowing you to style the jacket according to your mood—worn loosely open or more sharply wrapped with a defined waist. And of course, there is also a selection of kimono-style jackets in lighter silk crepe—already a favourite among clients in the “Unimoon” patterns collection.
An Asian touch
I also experimented with Japanese cuts, which carry a sense of spacious freedom that resonates with Tanel Veenre’s creative spirit. As a result, the collection also includes minimalist yet distinctly cut shirts and trousers made of raw silk. Tanel has always been drawn to raw silk for its honestly uneven texture and the material’s quiet firmness.
A selection of silks from the collection is available for the first time at Tallinna Kaubamaja. And of course, all the beauties are waiting to be tried on at the Roosikrantsi store (open Mon–Fri 12–18), where you can quietly wrap yourself in different clouds until you find your own. Are you more of a midday sky or a gentle sunset 😉?
