Just before the year’s end, Tanel Veenre launched a new dreamy series of ear jewellery Libellula.

The creation of the collection was given impetus by the work of the great art nouveau master French glass and jewellery artist René Lalique (who lived from 1860-1945), who interpreted nature into human poetry. The Libellula series is inspired by Lalique’s famous “Dragonfly-woman” corset jewellery, which was first presented at the 1900 Paris World’s Fair. It is a masterpiece of jewellery art that combines nature and human, dragonfly wings and a woman’s torso, beauty and fear.

Tanel Veenre first encountered Lalique’s wedge jewellery as a student at the Gulbenkian Museum in Lisbon, and it had a very deep impact on him. The Libellula series was born thanks to a personal experience and an emotion that struck him at the time. The singing and mysterious title of the collection comes from the Latin name of water lilies.

The Libellula collection includes 11 different pairs of wedge-shaped earrings decorated with natural rhombic semi-precious stones (onyx, chalcedony, rock crystal, amazonite, malachite, aventurine, peach moonstone, etc.) specially designed for this series. The selection includes light and dark, pink and gold-plated high-quality silver dragonflies.
